About Us

IIITA-MUN is IIIT Allahabad’s flagship premier national student conference. Every year Effervescence, the cultural fest of IIIT Allahabad, has been the buzz of the town for its distinct penchant for displaying spectacular events, and IIITA-MUN is its key Flagship Event, hosted by SARASVA, IIIT Allahabad's Literary Society. With a footfall of 300+ in the offline version, IIITA-MUN'21 will be an online sought after opportunity for the globally connected India to take part in the annual cultural festival of IIITA and indulge in an intense diplomatic discussion to unravel the unpursued but potential paths and possibilities to the critical issues of the world that have kept diplomats scratching their heads over the years. The level of the IIITA Model United Nations conference has been increasing exponentially year after year- it has become one of the biggest MUNs in the Allahabad - Kanpur - Lucknow belt in the six years since its inception. Our aim for this edition of IIITA MUN is not only to enhance the debate that takes place within the walls of the conference rooms but also to increase the reach of North India’s premier MUN.

Committees

This year, we present to you two committees:-

  1. United Nations General Assembly
  2. Client Image

The United Nations General Assembly provides a unique forum for multilateral discussion of the entire spectrum of international issues covered by the Charter of the United Nations. This conventional and yet magnetic committee invites extensive participation with its comprehensive agendas, making it an ideal choice to begin MUN-ing with.

Agenda : Addressing the Human Rights crisis in the Middle East with special emphasis on the Taliban rule in Afghanistan

  3. Historic Crisis committee
  4. Client Image

A step away from the legalities and technicalities of a regular MUN committee, the delegates in an HCC go back in time to tackle real time situations, that will give delegates the opportunity to direct the committee and potentially solve crises through their directives, oration and lobbying. The dynamic and fast-paced nature of a crisis committee will surely keep you on your toes.

    Agenda: The 1986 Chernobyl Crisis
